Vacation Rentals
Renting a vacation property can be a very exciting choice for your next vacation. There are many destinations and every vacation home has a different personality that might inspire you. There are little beach cottages, stylish modern retreats, rugged cabins, and lush luxury homes, and everything in-between all for rent.
One of the biggest advantages of a vacation rental is space. The amount of space you gain by renting a villa instead of a hotel room is really amazing. It would typically cost several hundred dollars a night to rent a multiple room suit from a hotel. However, you can often get a villa that sleeps 8 for $100-$200 a night if booked for a week. This would be much more spacious than the typical hotel room you could get for that rate.
When you are searching, you will want to be mindful of the location of the vacation rental. While you may save some money by getting a villa that is far from all the activities, or far from the beach. It may either cost as much in transportation fees and/or parking to get into the city that finding a place closer to your destination would be advisable. Also, if you are in a tropical location, having your rental near the beach will add serenity and convenience to your trip.
Check-in options are also important. If the company you are renting from has electronic key systems it will be much easier for you to gain access to the facility, as they will probably send you the key so you can just go directly to the villa. However, in the likely case that the rental does not have electronic key access, you will probably need to check in at the property management companies’ office. This can sometimes be an added hassle to the process, and you may want to find a place that has an office near the rental. (A long drive to the property management company cuts into your leisure time.
